Hello Chris!
Tell us about your role and what a typical workday looks like
As the head of Redeye's corporate events department, my responsibilities are incredibly diverse. Depending on whether we have an event scheduled, my tasks can range from being highly practical to the complete opposite—very administrative.
Why do you think someone should work at Redeye?
I laugh a lot every day, and I believe that’s an essential aspect of any workplace! We’re a fun team that consists of very different individuals, yet we manage to have a great time together. Being part of a relatively small firm where you know everyone is a big plus for me. I also think we excel at recognizing and nurturing talent, providing opportunities based on each person’s strengths.
Tell us about your journey at Redeye
I’ve been with Redeye for 11 years now, which might seem like a long time to stay at one workplace. However, it doesn’t feel that way to me. Redeye has grown and evolved so much during my time here that it feels more like I’ve worked for three different companies, all under the same name.
My first role at Redeye was as a part-time event assistant, but it quickly turned into a full-time job. Back then, I was the only person in the events department, responsible for organizing all our events. As Redeye grew, the number of clients—and events—increased, so we expanded the team by hiring two additional staff members.
After returning from parental leave, I was given the opportunity to try a new role with a different focus. This was incredibly rewarding for me, as I gained valuable insights into various areas and developed a broad skill set.
The events team continued to grow in my absence, but a few years later, I was asked to take over as the head of the team. For me, it was an easy "yes." Events are, after all, the most exciting part of the job. They allow me to collaborate with many different departments internally, stay closely connected with Redeye’s clients, and deliver highly appreciated events.
